Fun, spunky and very smart — that’s what Maranda Gail Mathis was described as by mother’s friend.
“She had manners. She was a bright girl”, Leslie Ruiz added about Miranda in a message to the Washington Post.
The 11-year-old was among 21 persons whose lives were cut short in a mass shooting at the Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas on May 24, 2022.
In her official obituary, Miranda family’s wrote that she was “sweet, smart, and a shy tomboy who enjoyed being in nature and the outdoors”.
“Those who knew Maranda, knew her great imagination and often expressed her love for unicorns, especially if they were her favorite color purple,” the family added.
