‘Remembering America’s Gun Victims’ – José Manuel Flores Jr (Uvalde, Texas)

José Manuel Flores Jr was a “little shadow” constantly watching over his family.

“He was a helper,” Jose Flores Sr, his father, said, adding that his son wanted to be a police officer when he grew up so that he could protect others.

Ten-year-old Jose was among 21 persons whose lives were cut short in a mass shooting at the Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas on May 24, 2022.

Jose was a good brother, said sister Endrea Flores, who was 9 months younger to him.

Her brother would always play with her and support her, and also take care of their infant brother, said Endrea.

But more than these, Jose was a “little shadow” hanging around their home, always ready to help, said his family.
